Man arrested
for weapons
SAINT CLAIR — A vehicle stop March 15 by Saint Clair police in the 300 block of Cherry Street resulted in charges being filed against a Schuylkill Haven man.
Police said a charge of prohibited offensive weapons was filed against Brian Mayberry, 25, of 318 W. Adamsdale Road, with Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
Police said that officers stopped a vehicle that Mayberry was a passenger in and discovered a shotgun with a sawed off barrel wrapped in a cloth.
Mayberry was taken into custody and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on a probation detainer, police said.
Woman arrested
on drug charges
SAINT CLAIR — A Pottsville woman was arrested by Saint Clair police on drug charges after an incident on April 12.
Police said Ashley Stumhofer, 25, of 322 E. Arch St., was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was committed to Schuylkill County Prison on a detainer placed against her by Schuylkill County Adult Probation.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle driven by Stumhofer and inside her open purse saw a digital scale and a hypodermic needle containing a brown liquid.
Also found was another digital scale, a glass smoking pipe with burnt residue, a clear glass smoking pipe with white residue, various medications in pill form as $500 in cash and four glassine packets marked “cobra” containing suspected heroin.
The charges against Stumhofer were filed with Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, police said.
Man charged
with harassment
FRACKVILLE — Frackville police filed charges of harassment against a Tremont man after an incident on April 12.
Police said Ronald Sticker repeatedly harassed another person by sending numerous text messages after being warned several times to stop.
The charge against Sticker was filed with Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville, police said.
State police look
for stolen ATV
HAZLETON — State police at Hazleton are investigating the theft of an ATV that occurred between 10 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday at 1351 Harwood Road, Hazle Township.
Police said someone broke the lock on a garage belonging to Michael Voyda, 52, and stole a black and white Kawaski ATV.
