The Schuylkill County Municipal Authority awarded project contracts at its monthly meeting Tuesday.

The board awarded contracts for the Reilly Township waterline project, which involves a new waterline to the village of Newtown. The contracts awarded Tuesday for that project included general construction and electrical work. The authority received a grant and a loan from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Invest Authority for the waterline project in October. Another contract was awarded for a meter installation project that aims to replace about 11,000 residential water meters in 22 municipalities.

Doli Construction Corp., Chalfont, was awarded the contract for general construction for the Reilly Township project. They were the lowest of nine bidders with a $2,887,042 contract. The highest bid was $3,783,420 from Vollers Excavating Construction.

The electrical contract of $35, 956 for the waterline project was awarded to West End Electric Inc., Hegins, the lowest of two bidders — the other low bidder was Reilly Mechanical Construction, Minersville, at $79,800.

Board members awarded a contract to Lenegan Plumbing & Heating LLC, New Jersey, for $464,971 for the installation of the water meters. Four companies bid on the project. The highest bid was Vanguard Utility Service Inc., Kentucky, at $717,032.74.

The authority received a loan in January for the replacement of the water meters and a tank upgrade project.
