charged, arraigned
FRACKVILLE — Frackville police reported arraigning James R. Brown, Scranton, on April 6 on charges related to a burglary in the borough.
Police said officers were called to the 200 block of North Broad Mountain Avenue for a breaking and entering in progress where they found Brown in the backyard and took him into custody.
An investigation revealed that Brown knocked on the front door of the home, walked away and then went to the back where he kicked open the basement door and entered.
Brown entered the kitchen area from the basement stairs and was chased out of the home by the owner, police said.
Brown was arraigned on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail, police said.
Brown was also charged by police stemming from two additional incidents in the 200 block of North Broad Mountain Avenue, one on March 29 and the other on April 4.
Police said Brown stole items from several vehicles and was found with methamphetamine in his possession.
Charges against Brown stemming from the incidents include theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and unsworn falsification to authorities, police said.
Police: Ashland
man had drugs
FRACKVILLE — An Ashland man was arrested by Frackville police after an incident April 8 in the 100 block of South Fourth Street.
Police said Trevor Mitros was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana and will now have to answer to the charges before Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville.
Police said officers were called to the area for a public drunkenness incident and found Mitros with items of drug paraphernalia and marijuana in his possession.
