Pottsville man
wanted in assault
Pottsville police are looking for a man they said broke into a home and assaulted a woman in the city about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police said officers were called to 818 Main St. for a report of an assault and learned that Lyle McCulley, 36, of Pottsville, assaulted a 38-year-old Pottsville woman and fled the area before authorities arrived.
Officers saw apparent signs of a physical struggle along with evidence indicating that McCulley forced his way into the home.
Police said the woman had an injury to her nose as well as multiple scratches and red marks on her neck. She told officers that McCulley awoke her in her bedroom and began assaulting her. During the attack, the woman said that McCulley choked her and struck her in the face with a closed fist, police said.
Police said McCulley had previously been served with a trespass notice by the Pottsville Housing Authority, making it illegal for him to enter the residence.
Based on officer observations and information received from the victim, police said an arrest warrant was obtained charging McCulley with felony burglary, felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor simple assault pursuant to domestic violence, misdemeanor loitering and prowling at night and summary harassment.

Orwigsburg man
sought in incident
Pottsville police are seeking information on the whereabouts of a man wanted for a robbery and assault that occurred Saturday afternoon.
Police said officers were called to 613 Harrison St. about 12:30 p.m. for a report of a 24-year-old Pottsville man being assaulted by a man known to him as “M-Dot.”
The man told officers that “M-Dot” struck him with a closed fist, causing a visible injury, and showed a knife while verbally demanding that he hand over his cellphone, police said. The man did hand over his phone, police said.
“M-Dot” fled the area, and police said officers later identified him as Marquese Whitted, 30, of Orwigsburg.
Police said they obtained an arrest warrant for Whitted, charging him with felony robbery, misdemeanor offenses of theft, simple assault and receiving stolen property and a summary charge of harassment.

LYKENS — Someone stolen a license plate from a man’s vehicle while it was parked on North Second Street on April 17 in this Dauphin County borough, police said Sunday.
State police at Lykens said the plate belongs to Randy E. Ramer Jr.
Police investigate
assault of girl, 6
LYKENS — State police at Lykens are investigating a report of 6-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted multiple times between last year and March 22.
Police said in a press release issued Sunday that the incidents occurred in the 500 block of Market Street.
