Criminal court, April 27, 2016

In recent Schuylkill County Court action, Judge John E. Domalakes accepted guilty pleas from, and, pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants, imposed the indicated sentences on, these people:

Jason Ennis, 35, of Shenandoah; driving under the influence; 10 days in prison, 40 days house arrest with electronic monitoring, 40 days strict supervision, three months probation, $750 fine, $300 payment to the Substance Abuse Education Fund, $960 restitution and 20 hours community service, with sentence effective May 6.

Christopher J. Fox, 26, of Schuylkill Haven; tampering with evidence; 12 months probation. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Steven Heffelfinger, 44, of Schuylkill Haven; DUI; 25 days house arrest with electronic monitoring, 35 days strict supervision, four months probation, $300 fine, $100 SAEF payment, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and 20 hours community service. Prosecutors withdrew charges of failure to drive at a safe speed and failure to keep right.

Melissa J. Hoegler, 36, of Hazleton; two counts each of retail theft and conspiracy and one of receiving stolen property; two years probation, $50 payment to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $2,027 restitution and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew a second count of receiving stolen property.

Thomas J. Krisa, 47, of Saint Clair; theft by failure to make required disposition, theft and theft by deception; five years probation, $50 CJEA payment and $79,258.58 restitution.

Savas G. Logothetides, 32, of Pottsville; DUI and failure to stop at red signal; 25 days house arrest with electronic monitoring, 35 days strict supervision, four months probation, $325 in fines, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and 12 hours community service, with sentence effective Thursday.

Glen A. Mars Jr., 52, of Pine Grove; DUI and careless driving; 90 days to five years house arrest with electronic monitoring, $1,525 in fines, $300 SAEF payment, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and 20 hours community service. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of disregarding traffic lane.

Drai F. Miller, 24, of Pottsville; possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and DUI; three to six months in prison, $1,000 fine, $200 in SAEF payments, $50 CJEA payment, $113 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, 10 hours community service and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew charges of driving under suspension and driving unregistered vehicle.

Benjamin A. Riegel, 37, of Pottsville; theft and receiving stolen property; 12 months probation, $50 CJEA payment and $50 restitution to Pottsville police.

All defendants who were sentenced must pay costs as a part of their sentences.
