ORWIGSBURG — A Port Carbon man is headed to Schuylkill County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing Monday on six drug-related charges stemming from a traffic stop in Orwigsburg.
Zachary M. Freeze, 29, of 114 Pike St., faces one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two of possession of a controlled substance and three of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier bound over for court all charges against Freeze after the defendant waived his right to the hearing. Freeze then returned to prison, where he is being held on $5,000 straight cash bail pending further court action.
Orwigsburg police allege Freeze possessed 6.38 grams of methamphetamine, 1.06 grams of cocaine, 56 empty plastic baggies, two plastic baggies with residue and a digital scale with residue at 7:35 p.m. April 11 in a Jeep at 800 W. Market St. in the borough.
Police said Freeze was the passenger in the Jeep, which was stopped for a traffic violation, and the drugs and paraphernalia were found in his jacket. Police said Freeze had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Dex A. Mahute, 25, of Country Squire Motel, Room 22, Route 61, Schuylkill Haven; burglary, simple assault and harassment; right to preliminary hearing waived, charge of burglary withdrawn, other charges bound over for court.
Virginia D. Scheipe, 34, of 230 N. Berne St., Schuylkill Haven; possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.
Robert M. Stout, 41, of 55 Railroad St., Cressona; driving under the influence, driving without a license, disregarding traffic lane, careless driving and failure to stop and give information; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.
Danielle Sullivan, 35, of 215 S. Third St., Saint Clair; simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.
