SHENANDOAH — A man charged with an incident involving a gun in Mahanoy City during the early morning hours of Jan. 1 waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker on Monday.

Francis T. Green, 32, of 211 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville, formerly of 334 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City, was charged with possession of a firearm prohibited, possession of a weapon, terroristic threats, propulsion of missiles into occupied vehicles, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct.

By waiving his right to a hearing Green will now have to answer to all of the charges against him in Schuylkill County Court.

Mahanoy City police Cpl. Michael Dissinger charged Green with a 1:34 a.m. incident at his then Mahanoy City home where he was shooting a gun outside of the home. When interviewed, Dissinger said Green told him that he thought it was okay to shoot the gun because it was New Years’s and “everybody does that short of thing.”

In connection with the same incident, Amanda Lyn Mooney, 27, of 334 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City, was charged with hindering apprehension, obstructing the administration of law and lending firearms prohibited for trying to stop officers to enter the home and take Green into custody.

Prosecutors withdrew the charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution while Mooney waived the remaining to offenses to court.
