A Barnesville woman will spend three months on house arrest after being sentenced Monday in Schuylkill County Court for driving under the influence in April 2015 in Rush Township.

Donna E. Shistel, 63, must serve 90 days to five years under the terms of Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin’s sentence. Dolbin allowed Shistel to serve the 90 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring.

Dolbin also sentenced Shistel to pay costs, a $1,500 fine, $100 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund and $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account. He made the sentence effective on June 13.

“This is your rehabilitation. You’ve got to complete it,” Dolbin told Shistel.

Shistel pleaded guilty on March 29 to DUI, with prosecutors withdrawing a charge of failure to keep right. Rush Township police alleged Shistel was DUI on April 21, 2015.

Also on Monday, Dolbin sentenced Heidi A. Hruniuk, 33, of Gilberton, to time served to six months in prison with immediate parole for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dolbin also sentenced her to pay a $200 fine, a $100 SAEF payment, a $50 CJEA payment and $383.95 restitution, and perform 25 hours community service.

In a one-day trial over which Dolbin presided, a jury of seven men and five women on April 6 found Hruniuk guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia and not guilty of possession of a controlled substance.

Mahanoy Township police charged Hruniuk, who did not testify or offer any evidence on her behalf, with possessing three glass tubes, or pipes, on Jan. 9, 2015, in the township. Police said Hruniuk had the pipes in her purse while a passenger in a vehicle.

Also on Monday, Dolbin sentenced James R. Morgans, 25, of Mahanoy City, to time served to 23 months in prison, plus 12 months consecutive probation.

Morgans pleaded guilty on March 29 to terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, harassment and criminal mischief. State police at Frackville had charged him with committing those crimes on Aug. 16, 2015, in Mahanoy Township.

In other recent county court action, Judge Jacqueline L. Russell accepted guilty pleas from, and, pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants, imposed the indicated sentences on, these people:

Jesse J. Dalton, 26, of Schuylkill Haven; two counts of theft and one each of access device fraud and possession of a controlled substance; 131 days to 12 months in prison, 23 months probation, $100 SAEF payment, $150 in CJEA payments, $223 restitution and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew three counts of receiving stolen property, one each of conspiracy, theft of lost property, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief and defiant trespass and one additional count of access device fraud.

Stephen A. Mackeravage, 44, of Pottsville; two counts of defiant trespass; 12 months probation and $100 in CJEA payments. Prosecutors withdrew two counts of terroristic threats and one of disorderly conduct.

Andrew D. Rumberger, 25, of Girardville; fleeing or eluding police and careless driving; one to 12 months in prison, $800 in fines, $50 CJEA payment and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew two counts of simple assault and one each of recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving.

All defendants who were sentenced must pay costs as a part of their sentences.
