No bids submitted for the third-floor renovation at the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority building were under $100,000.

The bids were opened and read in the third floor of the building at 221 S. Centre St. on Friday. Eight bids were received for the renovations to turn the third floor into a planning and training room facility, which will mostly be used by the authority.

John Levkulic, of Levkulic Associates, Pottsville, read each bid aloud to those in attendance. Patrick M. Caulfield, executive director of SCMA, and Amy Batdorf, SCMA assistant director, also attended the approximately 20-minute event. Deadline for bid submission was noon. Money for the project will come from the general funds. The following companies submitted bids for the third-floor renovation project: Bognet Inc., Hazleton, $141,000; Heim Construction Inc. Orwigsburg, $119,420; Spotts Brothers Inc., Schuylkill Haven, $161,000; Premier Construction, Dillsburg, $129,777; Ed Snukis Contracting, Saint Clair, $154,000; Richard E. Angelo Inc., Hazle Township, $149,843; Uhrig Construction Inc., Reading, $182,700; and Sponaugle Construction Services, Hershey, $141,385.

Another company, Top Shelf Closet Co., Saint Peters, did not submit appropriate documentation.

“There is no bid for anything,” Levkulic said when he read the information.

The bids will be further examined, Levkulic said. Caulfield said the contracts could be awarded at the July 19 SCMA board meeting.
