A Pottsville man is headed to state prison after being sentenced Jan. 27 in Schuylkill County Court on drug charges.
Bradley J. Haslam Jr., 22, must serve 18 to 36 months in a state correctional institution, Judge James P. Goodman ruled. Goodman imposed the sentence after revoking Haslam’s probation.
In a nonjury trial, Goodman found Haslam guilty on Sept. 18, 2015, of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Goodman placed Haslam on probation for 23 months, and also sentenced him to pay costs, $100 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund, $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and $491 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem, and submit a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities.
State police at Reading had charged Haslam with possessing drugs and paraphernalia on Aug. 12, 2014, in East Norwegian Township.
Also Jan. 27, Kyle Morales, 20, of Nesquehoning, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, with prosecutors withdrawing charges of careless driving, driving under suspension and operating vehicle without required financial responsibility. Goodman sentenced him to pay costs and a $300 fine.
Rush Township police had charged Morales with being disorderly on July 24, 2015, in the township.
In another county court case, Dyon S.M. Thompson, 22, of Norristown, pleaded guilty Jan. 28 to criminal mischief and attempted theft, with prosecutors withdrawing charges of burglary and criminal trespass.
President Judge William E. Baldwin accepted Thompson’s plea, ordered preparation of a presentence investigation but did not immediately schedule sentencing.
Pottsville police charged Thompson with committing his crimes on Aug. 13, 2014, in the city.
On Jan. 26, Thomas J. Paris, 51, of Sheppton, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.
Judge John E. Domalakes accepted the plea, ordered preparation of a presentence investigation and scheduled Paris’ sentencing for 11 a.m. March 22.
East Union Township police charged Paris with committing his crime on Jan. 19, 2015, in the township.
