n Altamont: The Altamont Fire Company will hold Lenten seafood dinners from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Fridays during Lent, beginning Feb. 12 at the firehouse, 215 S. Green St. People may pay at the door. The menu includes haddock (baked or beer-battered), shrimp, crab cakes, macaroni and cheese and stewed tomatoes and mixed vegetables. All are welcome. n Gilberton: American Hose Company No. 2 in the borough’s Mahanoy Plane section will have pizza sales from 5 to 8 p.m. on Fridays during Lent at the firehall, High Road. The cost is $8 for a plain pizza. The 12-inch round pizzas can be baked or unbaked. Extra toppings are available at 50 cents each and include extra cheese, mushrooms, onions, sweet or hot peppers. n Girardville: The Girardville Ambulance Service subscription drive is underway. Anyone in the group’s service area who did not receive an envelope is asked to call 570-205-6205.

n Harrisburg: The state Department of Transportation driver license and photos centers, including its full-service center, will be closed Feb. 13 through 15 in observance of Presidents Day, according to a PennDOT press release. Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website — www.dmv.state.pa.us. Driver and vehicle online services are available 24/7 and include driver’s license and photo ID renewals, vehicle registration renewal, driver-history services, changes of address, driver license and vehicle registration restoration letters, and exam scheduling. There are no additional fees for using online services. A complete listing of PennDOT driver and photo license center closings in 2016 is available on the website under “News, Stats and Facts.” In the release, PennDOT also reminded motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.

n Minersville: St. Matthew the Evangelist Roman Catholic Parish will sponsor a Lenten seafood sale from noon to 3 p.m. Friday at the parish center, 120 Oak St. The menu includes pierogies, bleenies, halushki, potato soup and red clam chowder. n Minersville: Mountaineer Hose Company, Third and South streets, will have a breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to noon Sunday at the firehouse, featuring an “open menu,” according to a release. All are welcome.

n Schuylkill Haven: The Schuylkill Valley Corvette Club will have a general membership meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion, 229 Parkway. For more information, call 610-223-8882.

n Schuylkill Haven: The Walk-In Art Center, 220 Parkway, will host a Ladies Night Out from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The event will include vendors, refreshments, pampering, samples, demonstrations and raffle drawings. Admission is free but donations will be accepted.

n Orwigsburg: Orders are begin accepted for an apple dumpling and apple pie sale with pickups set for Feb. 18 at Congregational Free Church of Christ, 81 McKeans Ridge Road. The cost for dumplings is $2 each and for pies, $8 each. The order deadline is Sunday. To order or for more information, call 570-366-2049.

n Tamaqua: Tamaqua Area High School’s financial aid night is set for 6 p.m. Monday in the school district auditorium. Representatives from several financial aid organizations will be on hand to discuss the FAFSA form and answer general financial aid-related questions. The school’s guidance counselor is Frank K.
