MINERSVILLE — Four borough men were arrested by Minersville police on drug charges stemming from a search warrant served at a borough home Wednesday morning.
Charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia were Robert P. Mehlman, 59, and his son, Robert Mehlman Jr., 27, both of 322 Laurel St.; Keith M. Kuzio Jr., 22, also of 322 Laurel St.; and, Kris Dean Prutzman, 26, of 219 Laurel St.
Charges against the four were filed with Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
Patrolman Jeffrey Bowers, the arresting officer, said the charges are the result of a search warrant executed about 9:45 a.m. at the 322 Laurel St. home.
Bowers said the warrant was issued by Plachko and is part of an ongoing narcotics investigation in the borough.
After executing the warrant, Bowers said police entered the home and conducted a “neat and orderly” search.
That search turned up a black sun glass case containing three hypodermic needles, a spoon and a vial with a clear fluid inside. The items were discovered under an ottoman where Prutzman was seated, the officer said.
The items were seized and placed in evidence by the department.
Assisting with executing the warrant were chief Michael Combs and patrolmen William Kattner, Jeremy Sborz and Kyle Crouse.
Bowers said that anyone with information about illegal drug use or sales in the borough should contact Minersville police immediately. All information received will remain confidential.
