n Pottsville: The city’s 40th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade and its 37th annual Grand Irish Party hosted by the Pottsville Ancient Order of Hibernians will be held on March 12. The parade will go from 10 a.m. to noon. For the parade, staging will be at 12th and Market streets with the march beginning at 11 a.m. The celebration will also include an 8 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and an AOH Grand Marshal breakfast at 9:15 a.m. at Trippin’ Billie’s. The Grand Irish Party will go from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Humane Fire Company, 200 Humane Ave. The cost for the party is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. n Pottsville: The Pottsville Free Public Library, 215 W. Market St., will host a Red Cross Disaster College free training series in recognition of March as Red Cross Month. The sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. March 1, 3, 8 and 10. During the series, volunteers will become skilled in disaster response including responding to local disasters by assisting families with immediate needs, operating mass feeding, shelters and evacuation facilities and assisting with disasters like home fires, according to a release.
