FRACKVILLE — A Barnesville woman charged with providing false information regarding the sale of firearms had charges against her held for court during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale.

Jessica L. Grubb, 42, of 66 Back Road, was arrested by state police Trooper Michael Marinchak of the Frackville station with one felony count of materially false written statements regarding the purchase, delivery or transfer of a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of unsworn falsification to authorities.

After hearing testimony Hale determined the commonwealth proved a prima facie case and ordered both offenses held for Schuylkill County Court.

Marinchak said Grubb tried to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer but a backround check determined she was prohibited from acquiring a firearm.

Grubb then answered no to a question saying she is not facing felony charges that could involve imprisonment but at the time was facing drug, theft and fraud charge charges in Columbia County Court, Marinchak said.

When interviewed, Marinchak said Grubb admitted trying to transfer the gun title from another person to herself and when asked about answering the question falsely said she misinterpreted that question.
