n Auburn: A Kauffman’s chicken barbecue and ham dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Auburn Fire Company, 131 Front St. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children.

n Friedensburg: The Friedensburg Fish and Game Club will have a rumpsch match from noon to 5 p.m. March 13 at the club, 169 Stone Mountain Road. Tickets are $5 each. n Pottsville: David Krishingner, a lifelong member of the Lions Club who recently relocated to Pottsville, was the featured speaker during a recent club meeting and began by noting that Lionism is “service to the community.” He said Lions “must be committed to actively pursue this mission as we come up with projects (and) new initiatives that reach out and touch the community in positive ways and build upon, not just a tradition, but an action that sets the example for others to follow.” He also spoke about his time as a member of the Kerrville, Texas, Lions Club and the projects that the club engaged in, including flying underprivileged and handicapped children to camp. He said he was honored to have been selected to attend the 2012 Lions International meeting in Pusan, South Korea. He challenged members of the Pottsville Lions to come up with a project that will not only enhance and build the community but will also, in itself, help attract a new generation of Lions who will then carry on the heritage and traditions established by the club.

n Pottsville: The Crimson Tide Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit group, will sponsor “Get the Scoop with ESPN’s Heather Dinich” from 7 to 9 p.m. April 8 at D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc., 310 Mill Creek Ave. The cost is $35. Dinich, a Pottsville Area High School graduate, is one of ESPN’s top college football analysts, according to a foundation press release. n Schuylkill Haven: The Vraj Youth Committee, which is part of the Vraj Hindu Temple, 15 Manor Road, will host a community outreach program from 2 to 4 p.m. March 26. The event, according to a Vraj press release, will include an Easter egg hunt, games, candy, food, prizes and other activities. It will be “an opportunity for the local community to get to know Vraj better,” according to the release.

n Schuylkill Haven: The Lewis Achenbach Exhibition and Jazz Occurrence with the Paul Miller Jazz Ensemble will open from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at Walk In Art Center, 110 W. Columbia St., main gallery. Admission is free and there will be light refreshments. The exhibition is open until April 29. For more information, call the center at 570-732-3728. The center will also have its third annual bridal fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 13 at the main gallery, third floor. Admission is free. The center is sponsoring a “MoMA” bus trip April 9 to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The cost for round-trip bus tickets and a guided tour of the museum is $90 and for round-trip bus tickets and an unguided museum tour, $80.
