ORWIGSBURG — A Schuylkill Haven man is headed to Schuylkill County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing March 1 on separate charges of using a car without the owner’s consent and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Andrew T. Putlock, 33, of 412 High St., faces charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. Prosecutors withdrew charges of theft and receiving stolen property.

Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier bound over the charges for court after Putlock waived his right to the hearing.

Schuylkill Haven borough police filed both sets of charges against Putlock.

In the first case, they alleged Putlock used a white Toyota Camry without the consent of the owner about 7 p.m. Jan. 2 in the borough.

In the second, they alleged Putlock had a hypodermic needle at 11:22 p.m. Jan. 22 at St. Peter and Union streets in the borough.

Putlock remains in prison in lieu of a total of $26,000 straight cash bail, $25,000 in the first case and $1,000 in the second, pending further court action.

Other defendants whose cases Ferrier considered March 1, the charges against each one and the judge’s dispositions of the matters included:

John Gustites, 34, of 409 N. Fifth St., Reading; resisting arrest, false identification to law enforcement, disorderly conduct and driving under suspension; right to preliminary hearing waived, charge of false identification to law enforcement withdrawn, other charges bound over for court.

David Iannantuono, 21, of 8808 Clearwater Circle, Fogelsville; materially false written statement and false statement under penalty; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

Jodie E. Mowrer, 42, of 411 E. Cherry St., Orwigsburg; simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment; right to preliminary hearing waived, charge of disorderly conduct bound over for court, other charges withdrawn.

Matthew T. Spece, 46, of 1208 Howard Ave., Pottsville; possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and no rear lights; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

Tom A. Starrett, 50, of 33 Spring St., Tremont; driving under the influence, failure to obey traffic control devices, disregarding traffic lanes, failure to drive at a safe speed, careless driving, accident involving damage to unattended vehicle or property and failure to notify police of accident; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

Shawn F. Sukeena, 38, of 607 Fourth St., Mar Lin; receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

A Millersburg man is headed to Dauphin County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing March 2 on charges he had sexual contact with a preteen child.

Matthew B. Goshorn, 36, of 240 Ridgewood Drive Apt. 7, still faces charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and corruption of minors. Magisterial District Judge Rebecca J. Margerum bound over those charges for court after Goshorn waived his right to the hearing.

Prosecutors withdrew a charge of unlawful contact with a minor for sexual offenses and a second count of corruption of minors.

State police at Lykens alleged Goshorn had the improper contact with the child on Jan. 1, 1999, in Upper Paxton Township.

Goshorn is free on $75,000 unsecured bail pending further court proceedings. His formal arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. April 29 in Harrisburg.
