A Frackville man will not have to spend more time in prison after admitting Wednesday in Schuylkill County Court that he assaulted a woman in September 2015 in his hometown.

Paul G. Laurusevage, 29, pleaded guilty to simple assault, with prosecutors withdrawing charges of attempted rape, unlawful restraint, indecent assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person, a second count of simple assault and two counts of harassment.

Judge John E. Domalakes accepted the plea and, pursuant to an agreement between prosecutors and Laurusevage, sentenced the defendant to spend 221 days to 18 months in prison with immediate parole, pay costs, $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and $1,500 restitution, have no contact with the victim and undergo mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations.

Frackville borough police charged that between 11 p.m. and midnight Sept. 3, 2015, Laurusevage entered the building through a locked back door, went to the woman’s bedroom while she was sleeping, grabbed her by the hair and started choking her. The woman suffered a black eye and bruises on her arms and legs, police said.
