Police investigate
diner burglary
Pottsville police are investigating a burglary that occurred at the Pottsville Diner, 271 N. Claude A. Lord Blvd., that was discovered Friday morning.
Police said James Manaloulas, owner, reported he arrived at the diner about 3 a.m. Friday and found ceiling tiles down from above the kitchen area of the establishment.
The man also found that padlocked drawers had been broken into and change had been taken from one, police said.
Manaloulas also said that a register had been broken into but no money had been inside at the time to be taken, adding that the last employee had left the diner upon closing at 10 p.m. the previous evening.
Police said the investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Pottsville Bureau of Police at 570-622-1234.
