MAHANOY CITY — A traffic stop by Mahanoy City police on Wednesday resulted in a woman being charged with felony drug offenses.

Police said Krystle Lee Ketchledge, whose age and address were not available, was charged with five felony counts each of possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; four misdemeanor counts of misbranding of medication or prescriptions; and one misdemeanor count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and alteration, mutilation or destruction of a label.

Patrolman Earl Johnson said Ketchledge was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped in the first block of South Second Street for a violation.

When asked to exit the vehicle, Johnson said, he noticed an orange cap used to cover a syringe and a subsequent investigation revealed Ketchledge was in possession of a purse that had 116 packaging bags with the word “diesel” imprinted on them and 20 individual bags with the word “diesel” that contained a multicolor substance, later tested positive as methylmethcathinone, or bath salts, inside.

Also found during the stop were 105 Tramadol pills, 15 Diazepam pills, one Alprazolam pill and one Oxycodone pill, all controlled substances.

Johnson said he then found, in addition to the 116 packaging baggies, nine small glassine baggies imprinted with a marijuana leaf, 13 small clear baggies, two orange tourniquets, five syringes and two digital scales.

Inside the car, the officer reported finding a syringe that Ketchledge later admitted using prior to the traffic stop.

Johnson said Ketchledge was committed to Schuylkill County Prison on a retainer by the Schuylkill County Adult Probation and Parole Department and will be arraigned on the drug charges at a later date.
