Boy, 11, charged
with harassment
State police at Lykens have charged an 11-year-old boy with harassment for jabbing pencils into the backs of two classmates at Upper Dauphin Middle School in Lykens, causing minor injuries, police said Thursday.
The incidents occurred at 3:20 p.m. Feb. 24 and 2:15 p.m. Tuesday and the victims were a boy and a girl, both 11, police said.

flyswatter attack
State police at Lykens charged a man from Elizabethville with assault after the man attacked a man from Dalmatia with a flyswatter, police said Thursday.
The incident occurred on Feb. 14, when the assailant hit the victim with the flyswatter and, after the flyswatter broke, the assailant continued to hit the victim with the metal end of it. The victim also suffered a bruise on his right heel during the assault, police said.
Police did not name the man they charged or the victim Thursday.

FRACKVILLE — A 19-year-old Mahanoy City man was charged with possession of a controlled substance by state police at Frackville stemming from an incident March 16, 2015, in West Mahanoy Township.
Police said Thursday that Dominic J. Streisel will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah.
Police said a vehicle driven by Streisel was stopped for a traffic violation and a subsequent investigation revealed there was marijuana inside.

PALO ALTO — A theft of a vehicle between 8:15 p.m. Wednesday and 6:25 a.m. Thursday from in front of 338 W. Savory St. is being investigated by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Police said Amanda Marie Horning reported someone stole her black 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport while it was parked in front of her home with the keys inside and doors unlocked.
The vehicle has a Pennsylvania registration plate of JKF4649.
Police said that anyone with information is asked to call them at 570-739-1330.
Man violates
Megan’s Law
NESQUEHONING — A man was jailed Thursday after being taken into custody on a Megan’s Law violation.
State police at Frackville said that Casey Joseph McKlveen, 22, was apprehended in Nesquehoning by officers in that Carbon County community on Thursday when he approached an officer and asked if he was wanted.
After verifying that McKlveen was wanted, police said, the man was held and subsequently turned over and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, on a warrant charging him for failing to register as a Megan’s Law registrant as required for New York State for a rape conviction using a Shenandoah address.
McKlveen was subsequently committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $20,000 straight cash bail set by Reiley, police said.
City man faces
drug charges
CUMBOLA — State police at Frackville charged a Pottsville man with possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident about 3:05 p.m. Thursday on Trolley Street in Blythe Township.
Police said Marcus T. Anderson, 42, will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
Police said Anderson was stopped by a local police department for suspicious activity, and after being found in possession of drug paraphernalia, state troopers were contacted.
